June 10: students will return computers to Tech central. Then read, discuss, and complete page 1 What is Ecology? in their note packets. Save and use on OPEN NOTE TEST THURSDAY 6-13-19.
June 11: We will discuss the answers to "Ology Online Learning Worksheet" in packet. Save and use on OPEN NOTE TEST THURSDAY 6-13-19.
June 12: All missing work is due today. Students will receive "Kingdoms Crossword and Review Packet." We will work on, discuss, and complete the packet today. Save and use on OPEN NOTE TEST THURSDAY 6-13-19.
June 13: Students will use their note packets, worksheets, etc. to help them complete the OPEN NOTE TEST on Classification and Ecology of Living Things. Students who forget or have lost their notes will take the test without the aid of materials.
June 14: Students will discuss and correct their test and hand in for a grade. Half Day of School Today! Have a great summer vacation!!!!!

June 3: Extra Credit and missing work is at the bottom of this page and is due on or before June 5th. We will be completing classification worksheets in the note packet. "The Five Kingdoms, Family of Living Things, and Classy Vertebrates." Please scroll to the bottom of this page to access Classification Note Packet 2019. On Thursday and Friday, June 6-7, students will complete an online activity from the American Museum of Natural History Kids links Oology.
May 28: Students will begin studying the Classification of Living Things this week. We will take notes together on pages 450-453 in our science textbooks. Then students will receive a packet of notes relating to Living Things. Students will complete the Classification Doodle Notes using the Power Point Classification document at the bottom of this page. It will be due at the end of class Thursday, May 30. Learning Targets are due Wed. June 5th. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to access or print target questions. Open-note quiz on Classification Friday May 31st. Bring a charged computer and all of your notes and materials or you will take the quiz without the aids. Extra Credit is at the bottom of this page and is due on or before June 5th.

May 6-17: Students will be studying forms of energy and the law of conservation of energy this week. We will work together in the interactive textbook, reading and taking notes. Students will complete reinforcement exercises as well. On Wednesday, students will receive directions and materials to begin an Energy Flip Book Assignment. We will work on the flip book in class on Thursday and Friday. Then it will become homework due on Wednesday, May 15th. On May 14-16 students will complete pages 12-13 Conduction, Convection, and Radiation in their note packets together with teacher direction and whole class conversation.
April 29: Student will continue in our study of Energy. This week students will complete a lab activity called the Box Sliding Lab. We will discuss and complete the lab post-lab questions together and students will hand it in for a grade. April 22: Students will learn about Earth Day and how we can support efforts to protect our planet and keep Earth healthy!! Students will check their science grade for Quarter 4 and all missing work is due by Friday, April 26 for full credit. Tuesday through Friday, students will continue our study of Energy.
April 15: Students will begin Topic 3: Energy. Lesson 1 will begin with directed reading notes on Tuesday and Wednesday(hand in Wednesday at the end of class or take home and finish as homework due Monday), followed by an online Plet Lab (Forces and Motion Basics) please click below. On Thursday, students will complete the online lab and hand it in for a grade.
April 8: Students will learn about Gas Laws this week. We will support with hands-on exploration. Mid-week we will complete our study of Matter by preparing for a unit test which will take place on Friday 4/12. Review worksheets can be accessed by scrolling to the bottom of this page.
April 1: Students will complete and hand in any missing work. We will explore states of matter by clicking this CHEMforKIDS link and completing the accompanying worksheet.

March 11-15: Ring of Truth video program. Students will watch the first 35 minutes of the program while taking video notes. We will discuss all answers as a class. Dec. 10: Students will spend Monday-Wednesday on Science NWEA. On Thursday and Friday, we will complete the Graphing Plate Tectonic Data and hand it in for a grade. We will also finish taking Topic 8 by reading and taking notes in our interactive textbooks on Thursday and Friday. No homework.
Dec. 3: Students will be plotting earthquake and volcano data this week in an activity called Graphing Plate Tectonic Data. Nov. 19: On Monday, students will use their textbooks to complete an online progress check assignment on Earth's Layers and Continental Drift. Then we will continue the study of Plate Tectonics by working on the Plate Tectonic Puzzle Activity. Students will watch a video clip of the unique geology of Iceland due to its location above the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Students will use this information, their textbooks, and what they have learned, to finish the Plate Tectonic Activity requirements on Tuesday and hand it in. Nov. 12: Students will complete notes on pages 286-290 layers of Earth, as well as p. 290, 318-319 Continental Drift and plate tectonics. Students will begin an assignment called Lesson 2 Plate Tectonic Puzzle in which they will construct a map of Earth's plates, label, add vocabulary and geographical points. Nov. 19th, students will complete an open-book progress check online covering Earth's Layers, continental drift, and plate tectonics. Then they will continue working on Lesson 2 Plate Tectonic Puzzle.
Oct. 22: students will continue learning about the Geology of Earth by studying types of rocks and the Rock cycle. Students will work on a hands on rock lab on Monday and Tuesday(scroll to the bottom of the page to access the lab paper).
